Where we come from

Cascina La Pertica

Sincette’s history began in 1979 in Polpenazze del Garda, in the province of Brescia. In this region, in the heart of Valtenesi, Giovanni Battista Brunori buys and restores a rural building, which then become the corporate headquarters with the name of Cascina la Pertica. He is supported by his son Ruggero Brunori, an entrepreneur who shares his dream of producing great wines.

Ruggero Brunori

In the 80s, this force pushed Ruggero Brunori to look for a new style for the wines of Valtenesi. Meeting Giorgio Grai has helped defining the course of the winery. The new cellar has been built underground to preserve the aesthetics of the building while at the same time respecting the landscape. In a few years, Sincette wines have become a point of reference for Valtenesi in the ontrade channel.

Respecting nature

Andrea Salvetti

In 1992 Sincette’s dream become bigger with the arrival of Andrea Salvetti. Taking inspiration from transalpine viticulture methods, Salvetti provides the company with a sustainable approach. Winemaker Franco Bernabei adjust wine production and agronomist Stefano Chioccoli rearranges vineyards so as to have high quality grapes. In 1998 Salvetti approaches the biodynamic method after meeting Jacques Mell. The pioneer of biodynamics in France supports the company through a cultural and methodological path aimed at shaping terroir-driven wines.

Demeter

The certification

In 2009 Sincette obtains the IMC certification for organic farming. In 2011, fourteen years after starting the conversion process, the biodynamic dream is certified by Demeter, thus becoming the first Demeter-certified winery in Lombardy.

Sincette

In 2012 the name of the estate officially becomes Le Sincette, paying homage to the votive capitals – called “sincette” in Brescian dialect – that can be found in some parcels.

In 2014 Sincette starts the collaboration with Luca D’Attoma winemaker. In 2019 Sincette wines land in the US and then in Quebec, Canada. During the same year, the family started using clay amphoras, as well as fermenting and ageing Chiaretto in the barriques.

TODAY

Nowadays, Sincette is certified by Demeter as far as land, vineyards and olive groves. The company can count on Ruggero Brunori, the soul of Sincette, Andrea Salvetti, production and marketing coordinator, and Carloalberto Brunori, Ruggero’s son who is responsible for communication.
